Top Dog Groomers in Suffolk
Dolly’s Spa is run by dog-loving duo ‘Aunty’ Clare and ‘Uncle’ Danny, with help from a fantastic team of fully-qualified dog groomers. Our salon is named after their very first English Bull Terrier, Dolly Dog, who was a huge part of their family for 14 years. It’s only right that she’s a part of the family business, and we’re sure she would have approved of a ‘Dolly’ Grooming Spa! See our ‘about us’ page to learn more.
You don’t have to be a dog creche customer to use Dolly’s Spa – everyone is welcome! Your dog can be groomed whilst they’re at creche, or they can pop in another day – whatever works out best for you! We even offer puppy grooms, so your pup can enjoy a trip to the spa as early as possible. Book an appointment online today to give your dog the groom they deserve.

Additional changes will apply under the following circumstances:
- Extra time is needed for de-matting or uncooperative dogs.
- Your dog is dropped off before the designated appointment slot or picked up late.
- It becomes apparent that your pup has fleas (in order to cover the cost of flea treatment shampoo and a deep clean of the grooming salon).
- Your dog is heavily soiled, particularly in the anal area, and requires extra time washing and removing faeces in a safe and hygienic manner.
All Things Puppy!
Puppy grooming is essential in preparing your pup for a lifetime of enjoyable grooming experiences. These sessions give your puppy the chance to have a play around in our spa – helping them to build their confidence, become familiar with the salon environment, and get comfortable with new smells, sounds, and sensations. Our friendly, qualified groomers will slowly introduce your puppy to being gently handled, brushed, and combed – moving on to baths, nail clips, eyes, feet, and hygiene tidies when they’re ready.
We recommend bringing your puppy in for their first grooming once they’ve been fully vaccinated, which can be as young as 3 months old! But don’t worry – we won’t be giving them a haircut till they’re at least 6 months. With positive reinforcement and frequent trips to the salon, your pup will always be excited for their next spa treatment! Book your puppy groom at Dolly’s Spa today.
Puppy Groom Pricing
A fun, 30-minute session that gives your puppy the chance to visit the salon and meet our friendly groomers. We’ll slowly get your pup comfortable with being brushed, combed, and handled on and off the grooming table – with plenty of cuddles along the way!
As above, but with the addition of their first bath and a gentle puppy shampoo, as well as an eye, feet, and sanitary trim where possible.
After their Puppy Intro, we recommend bringing your pup in for a Puppy Groom every 4-6 weeks until they’re 6 months old.

Before Booking: Important Dog Grooming Info
At Dolly’s Spa, the health and well-being of your dog is our top priority. We’ll only ever groom your pup according to their tolerance and comfort level and will never perform treatments that they’re fearful of. If any pre-existing conditions or issues arise during grooming, we’ll notify you as soon as possible so you can seek veterinary advice. In the extremely unlikely event of an accident or medical emergency, we have your permission to seek emergency veterinary treatment. Please note that pregnant or in-season dogs will not be groomed, and failure to disclose this information will result in a full charge for the appointment.
After each groom, we’ll provide detailed feedback and answer any questions you may have. If you have any concerns or issues with your dog’s groom, please let us know before leaving the salon and we’ll be happy to make reasonable adjustments or note any changes for future appointments. We’ll also share details about your pet’s groom and advise you on how to best care for their coat.
Our starting prices are based on the assumption that your dog is groomed regularly (at least once per season or 4 times per year, depending on the breed) and that their coat is well-maintained between professional grooms. Additional charges may apply for dogs with matted or poorly maintained coats, difficult or uncooperative behaviour, excess weight, or special handling needs due to timidity, anxiety, or nervousness. If we’re unable to complete a groom due to behavioural problems or aggression, the starting price of the groom will still be charged. All payments are due at the time of pick-up.
We may take photos of your pup before, during, or after their groom, to be used on our website or social media. If you prefer that your dog not be photographed, please let us know.
We work by appointment only and ask that you arrive on time. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. A fee of 50% of the groom price will be charged for missed appointments and late cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice. A non-refundable deposit may also be required to secure a new appointment slot. Don’t forget, we offer free appointment reminders by text or phone; just let us know which you’d prefer!
If your pet’s coat is severely matted or neglected, it may need to be clipped down. Please be aware that this process carries risks and Dolly’s Spa and its owner and operator are not liable for any post-grooming effects. We’ll only de-mat as a last resort, in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006, and only for a maximum of 15 minutes if the matting is minimal. For severely matted coats, the only humane option is to completely shave the coat.
If fleas are discovered during the grooming process, we’ll notify you over the phone as soon as possible. Additional charges will apply for flea treatment shampoo, a deep cleaning of the salon, and to compensate for us not being able to groom any more dogs that day due to the cleaning process.
Please Note
It’s important to let us know if your dog has a history of biting or aggression before their grooming appointment. Failure to disclose this information may result in us being unable to provide further grooming services.
After their groom, we’ll give you an estimated pickup time and call you when your dog is ready to be collected. Please note that there may be additional charges for late pickups more than 30 minutes after being called to come and collect your dog.

Dog Grooming
FAQs
The cost of professional dog grooming in the UK can vary massively, and depends on a number of factors including the size and breed of your dog, the condition of their coat, and the specific services they need. In general, prices for a full groom (including a bath, brush, and coat and nail trim) start at around £30 for small breeds and can go up to £80 or more for large breeds or those with long, thick coats. It’s always a good idea to get a quote from your dog groomer before booking an appointment to make sure you have a clear understanding of their costs.
At Dolly’s Spa, our pricing won’t break the leash! We offer a range of dog grooming services to suit every budget, including The Dolly Dash (bath and dry), The Dolly Express (bath and tidy), and The Full Dolly (full groom). Prices start at £15 for small breeds and go up to £65+ for very large breeds with long hair. We also offer individual services such as nail trimming, eye trimming, ear cleaning, and even a relaxing blueberry facial, for when your pooch needs a pamper! Prices for these services start at £2.50. To see our full pricing list, please visit our Dolly’s Spa Services & Pricing section.
Definitely! Regular grooming can be a great way to reduce shedding and help keep your home clean and hair-free. Brushing and combing from a professional groomer can remove loose hair and tangles from your dog’s coat and help to stimulate the production of natural oils in their skin, keeping their coat healthy and shiny. Dog grooming is an essential part of maintaining your pup’s overall health and well-being, so regular trips to the grooming salon is definitely worth considering!
If you’re based in Suffolk and looking for ways to reduce your dog’s shedding, a visit to Dolly’s Spa is the ideal solution! Our full groom (The Full Dolly!) includes a thorough brush-out and de-shedding treatment; prices start at £30 for small breeds and increase based on the size and breed of your dog. We also offer the Dolly Dash (bath and dry) and Dolly Express (bath and tidy), so you can choose the option that best suits your needs and budget.
While grooming your dog at home can be a great bonding experience for you and your pup, it takes time, patience, and a lot of practice for a home groom to be a success. You’ll most likely need to start by brushing your dog’s coat to remove tangles and mats, then use a slicker brush or comb to remove any loose hair, before giving your dog a bath using a dog-specific shampoo (make sure to rinse thoroughly!) A nail trim and ear clean may also be in order!
Unless you have experience with dog grooming, we recommend taking your pup to a professional dog salon, who have the proper tools and expertise to ensure a safe and comfortable grooming experience. At Dolly’s Spa, we offer a variety of dog grooming services to suit every need and budget. Our fully qualified groomers are dedicated to providing the highest level of care for your pooch, ensuring they leave our salon looking and feeling amazing!
The ideal frequency of dog grooming can vary depending on your dog’s breed, coat type and length, as well as any specific health or grooming needs they may have. In general, most dogs benefit from being groomed every 4-12 weeks. Long-haired dogs require more frequent grooming to prevent matting and tangles, while short-haired pups won’t need grooming so often. We recommended consulting with a professional dog groomer or vet to determine the best grooming schedule for your dog. It’s also important to brush your dog’s coat regularly at home to maintain their coat and skin health and keep them looking gorgeous!
At Dolly’s Spa, we know that every dog (and owner!) is unique, which is why we offer a huge variety of packages and individual spa treatments to cater to every grooming need and preference. Whether your pooch needs a simple pamper or full grooming service, our friendly, professional dog groomers have the skills and expertise to keep your pup relaxed and happy throughout their experience. See our Dolly’s Spa Services & Pricing section to see our recommended frequency of appointments based on your dog’s breed.
Professional dog grooming typically includes a range of services to help maintain the health and appearance of your dog’s coat, skin, and nails. This can include bathing and drying, brushing and styling, nail trimming and filing, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing. Some dog groomers may also offer additional services such as hand-stripping, de-shedding treatments, and paw wax balms. Dog grooming is not just about making sure your dog looks their best or giving them a stylish makeover (although that is a huge benefit!) – it’s also a vital part of keeping your dog healthy, happy and comfortable.
It’s essential to choose a qualified groomer who has experience and expertise in caring for your specific breed of dog, as well as a safe, relaxing environment for your pup to enjoy their groom. This is why Dolly’s Spa is the ideal solution for any pet parents looking for a dog salon in Suffolk! Our passionate, professional grooming team are fully qualified in a huge number of dog grooming services, including baths, coat, eye and nail trims, styling, de-shedding, and much more. We even offer puppy grooms, perfect for introducing your puppy to the salon experience! See our Dolly’s Spa Services & Pricing section to learn more about what we offer.
