Morning of Fun!
We divide the dogs into two rooms based on their energy levels, ready for their exciting morning of running, sniffing, and playing with their new friends. Your pooch will have the time of their life with our endless toys, balls, climbing frames, tunnels, agility equipment, paddling pools, and sand pits. Rest assured, they’ll never be left unsupervised – our trained staff members are with them at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.
Relaxing Afternoon & Home Time
At lunchtime, the half-day dogs go home and the full-day dogs are fed individually and separately (you should see the lunch boxes we get! Some pups are very spoilt)! In the afternoon, we slow down the pace and switch to more relaxed activities like canine enrichment games, sniff and snuffle mat games, and snuggles to help your dog wind down before they head home. By 4pm, your dog will be happy, relaxed, and ready to be collected for a peaceful evening at home. If they could, we guarantee they’d tell you all about their exciting day-out at our dog creche! Instead, you’ll just have to check our regular Facebook updates to see the fun your pooch has had with us.
Benefits of Dog Daycare
If your dog has lots of energy, gets anxious being left alone, or demonstrates destructive behaviour when you’re not home, bringing them to our dog creche may be the perfect solution. You’ll be surprised by how much a weekly (or twice weekly!) day-out at Suffolk Dog Town can improve both you and your dog’s lives! Book your registration appointment to come and see the benefits for yourself!
Socialisation & Play With Other Dogs
The opportunity for your dog to socialise and play in a safe, supervised environment is a major benefit of our dog creche. Dogs are naturally social ‘pack’ animals who love to make friends! Our daycare sessions aren't just great fun for your pup; they also have a positive impact on their behaviour and well-being, helping them become confident, well-rounded dogs.
Relief From Stress & Boredom
Leaving your dog home alone for the day will often cause boredom, loneliness, and stress, leading to destructive behaviours such as chewing, tearing, and excessive barking (alongside shredded furniture)! Our dog creche is the perfect solution - providing a safe, fun environment for your dog to socialise and play while you go about your day.
Physical & Mental Exercise
Exercise is just as important for dogs as it is for humans! Structured playtime and games are a great way for your pup to burn off energy and get the mental stimulation they need to maintain good fitness and health. Activities at our dog creche are designed to enhance your dog's cognitive abilities and provide the essential physical exercise they need.
Professional Supervision & Care
When you bring your pup to our dog creche, you can have full peace of mind that they’ll be under the care and supervision of trained professionals. At Suffolk Dog Town, our staff are fully certified in Canine First Aid, and trained to a minimum of Levels 2 & 3 in Animal Care & Welfare Management. Our management team are also trained in Human First Aid and Level 3 Canine Behaviour and Welfare.

You can go about your day stress-free, knowing your pup is being looked after by trained professionals and having an amazing day out socialising and having fun with their friends.
A Fun-Filled Day Out!
The benefits of bringing your dog to our dog and puppy creche are huge, but the biggest one of all is that your pooch will have a fantastic day out! If you cancel your dog’s session with less than 24 hours notice, you may be charged the full price. This is because spaces are limited daily at the creche, and with limited notice, we may not be able to resell.
Due to data protection regulations, if you don’t visit us for 3 months or more, we’ll need to remove your data from our records. Any pre-paid sessions will also become void at this point. You’ll receive a reminder email prior to this time to see if you still wish to keep your dog registered with us.
If rejoining us after this 3 month period, your dog must take another temperament test to ensure they’ll still be happy in the creche environment.
There are some breeds that we are unable to accept, primarily those listed on the Dangerous Dog Act 1991. Our list of unacceptable breeds may change based on current advice from insurers and DEFRA legislation. We do accept bull breeds, providing they pass the temperament test and are suited to the dog creche environment, however, we require them to visit us at least twice a week to maintain good behaviour and socialisation.
To attend our Ipswich doggy daycare, your dog must be fully vaccinated and up to date with DHPP, Lepto, and Kennel Cough. We do accept dogs with Titre Test results, as long as we have a copy of the vet’s certificate. Female dogs in season cannot attend while they are in heat, and they must be fully ‘dry’ and have a nice bubble bath before returning to daycare. For safety reasons, male dogs over 8 months old must be castrated to attend. We do allow the hormone implant, but we must receive written confirmation from your vet.
If you have a fully vaccinated puppy older than 12 weeks, they can join the creche family as soon as they’re ready! In fact, the earlier they start the better, as they’ll get to learn and socialise from the get-go. We introduce new puppies slowly using a puppy pen and separate playrooms, and recommend that they only join us for a half day at first, gradually building up to a full day of fun when they’re ready. In addition to our dog and puppy creche, we offer puppy socialisation sessions and training to help your dog learn good manners as early in life as possible.
Our Process For Welcoming New Dogs & Puppies
If you haven’t visited us before and your dog is older than 6 months, they’ll need to take a temperament test to ensure their suitability and happiness in our dog creche. This is vitally important to make sure they won’t suffer anxiety being away from you and surrounded by other dogs. Not every dog will thrive in a daycare setting, so it’s extremely important to us that our dog creche is the right fit for everyone that joins the creche family.
The temperament test takes around 20 mins and starts with completing a registration form to gather history and general information about your dog. We’ll then take your dog into a quiet room while you stay in reception; this is to get a true reading of how they’ll behave away from their owner. Slowly and gradually, your pup will be introduced to a few quiet, calm dogs to see how they react. If they demonstrate happy, respectful and playful behaviour, and your dog is happy to be sniffed by the others, this is a great sign and means your dog is relaxed and at ease.
We sometimes come across separation anxiety in dogs, particularly when they come away from their owners for the first time. This is something we can potentially work on, and our dog creche can often help!
Once the test is complete, and we’re happy our Ipswich doggy daycare would be a good fit for your pup, we’ll arrange for them to do a half day with us to ease them in slowly and get introduced to the creche family. We never want you to feel rushed, so everything is done at you and your dog’s pace. It may be beneficial for your dog to do several half day sessions before they’re ready for a full day of fun.

Dog Creche FAQs
Yes, dog creche is a great option for puppies! It provides them with a structured environment where they can learn to socialise with other dogs, get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, and learn good behaviour and manners. Dog creche can also help to alleviate boredom and stress for puppies, which can prevent destructive behaviour and improve their overall well-being.
Puppies are welcome to join the dog creche family at Suffolk Dog Town as soon as they’re 12 weeks old and fully vaccinated (they must have both sets of vaccinations, including Kennel Cough). We recommend bringing your puppy to visit us for half a day at first, so they can get used to the dog creche environment and build up to a full day of play when they’re ready. Our popular puppy socialisation sessions and puppy training classes are also a great way for your puppy to develop their social skills and become a confident, well-rounded pup!
It’s generally fine for dogs to attend dog creche on a daily basis. However, it’s important to consider the individual needs of your dog and make sure that the creche is a good fit for them. Some dogs may be more suited to attending a creche on a less frequent basis, such as a couple of times a week, while others may thrive in a more structured, daily routine. It’s vital to make sure that the dog creche you choose is a reputable, high-quality dog centre with professionally trained staff and relevant licences and insurance (like us!). A professionally run and well-managed dog daycare centre will always welcome any questions, so don’t hesitate to ask if you have any queries or concerns.
At Suffolk Dog Town, our top-rated, family-run dog creche provides a range of fun activities for your dog to play, socialise, learn, and rest while you go about your day. While it’s natural to worry that your pup might miss you while they’re at dog creche, it’s important to remember that dogs are highly adaptable and social animals. In fact, many dogs look forward to going to daycare and getting the chance to have a fun-filled day with their friends!

So don’t worry – your dog will be having a great time with us, and they’ll be so excited to see you when you come to pick them up!
Dog creches are a great place for your dog to socialise and have fun while you’re away. To determine if your dog is suitable for a dog creche, it’s important to consider their socialisation skills, vaccination status, physical health, and whether they have a history of aggression or separation anxiety (although dog creche can often help with this). Most dog daycare centres will have your dog take a temperament test or do a trial day to ensure that their creche is a good fit for your pooch.
At Suffolk Dog Town, we know how important it is to make sure every dog that joins the dog creche family is suited to the creche environment and happy to be there. That’s why we require all dogs over the age of 6 months to undergo a temperament test before attending – to determine whether our dog and puppy creche is the right fit for your pup and ensure that they’ll be well-suited to playing with other dogs. For more information, see our section on temperament testing and onboarding new dogs and puppies! If you have any concerns about your dog’s suitability for our creche, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us on 01473 743737.
